Vicky Pinpin-Feinstein is the author of A Thousand Little Deaths, a memoir of her experience as a prisoner of conscience under a dictatorship in the Philippines. Her journey to becoming a writer is marked by her commitment to humanistic pursuits. She has been published in a literary journal, a foreign-based magazine, and a local newspaper. Vicky recently completed a manuscript about Ethiopian immigrants becoming Americans in the Washington, D.C. area entitled The Place We Come From now awaiting publication.

 

Vicky holds graduate degrees in Communication and Political Science and spent a career in communications technology applications, policy, and research with institutions like the Smithsonian, public television, and aid agencies.

 

She has won an Individual Artist/Scholar award from the Arts and Humanities Council (Maryland) and was chosen as a participant in the selective George Washington University's Creative Nonfiction Workshop under the Jenny Mckean Moore Writer in Washington Program.

 

Beyond writing, Vicky is an ardent advocate and volunteer for causes that foster a more inclusive and equitable world. She is a board member of the Anti-Defamation League Santa Barbara/Tri-Counties and chairs their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.

 

Books, dogs, music, and travel are her passions. She is married with children and loves, books, dogs, music, and travel.
